Hierarchical Element Definitions

• Clubs – Most meet either weekly or every other week and provide the basic environment for communication and leadership growth. Clubs are led by an officer team that includes a President, Vice President of Education, Vice President of Membership, Vice President of Public Relations, Secretary, Treasurer, and Sergeant-at-Arms. General descriptions and duties of each of these officer positions can be found on the Officer Resources Page.
• Areas – A group of between four and six Clubs. An Area Governor supports the clubs in the Area by visiting club meetings, providing mentoring and guidance, and overseeing the Area speech contest twice a year. An Area Governor may hold Area Council meetings which includes Area Club Officers and Area Committee Chairs. Here is a link to the Area Governor Job Description.
• Divisions – A group of three or more Areas. A Division Governor supports the Area Governors and the Area Club members. A Divison Governor may hold Divison Council meetings which includes Area Governors and Division Committee Chairs. Here is a link to the Division Governor Job Description.
• Districts The next level in the hierarchy. The District is goverened by The District Governor, the Lieutenant Governor Education and Training, the Lieutenant Governor Marketing, with the assistance of several other District Officers and Staff. • Regions – The next level in the hierarchy. Regions consist of around eight districts. Each Region has a Director that sits on the International Board and a Region Advisor.
  District 55 is in Region III. Here is a five-page Map Document showing the Regions and the Districts within those regions.
• Toastmasters International – The final element in the hierarchy. It is governed by the International Board.
