Dear Anna Lopez,
Last night was our Toastmasters meeting. We have two new members... They never even went as guests to our club. His wife heard and saw you at a presentation you did. You spoke for one hour about Social Security and she says you held their attention the entire time. She was sooooo impressed with you. She came home and told her husband and sister-in-law, and they immediately looked up the info and called Andrea and Rafael Malo. They came over to their house and signed up on the spot! Wow!!!! Anna you are awesome! He says he never saw or heard you, but just by the way his wife spoke about you he was convinced that he needed Toastmasters. He said, "I want to be able to hold people's attention like Anna Lopez". Of course, they couldn't say enough good things about Anna Lopez.

Gloria,
WOW, now I am left speechless to know that I left such a profound impression with my presentation last week. The couple that joined may not have told you the entire story.
Atheria Scott, our Speakers Bureau Coordinator, put out a message over three months regarding an upcoming one day workshop in McAllen on April 24 for the TDHS Regional Office Association for Administrative Assistants. They were looking for speakers that could inspire and motivate the group of 50 females and 5 males. The theme of the workshop was "Dare To Soar." I connected with the contact person for this workshop through the lead of Atheria and got set up for a 1 hour 15 minute presentation. I knew that I could educate them about Social Security but to inspire and motivate this group, I decided to deliver my second topic on Communication and Leadership Skills. The title for my second topic was, "Public Speaking...taking you to the TOP." I spoke 40 minutes on Social Security and the last 35 minutes on Toastmasters. I interjected plenty of humor throughout both presentations and heard lots of laughter. The attendees received literature on Social Security and Toastmasters and heavily emphasized the clubs available throughout the Valley.
So glad that they took the plunge and dared to soar by signing up immediately! One day soon I plan to make it up to visit both the Grande Evening and the Metro club. I am so proud of all the Valley clubs and all the clubs in our great District 55 and our great members!

What a wonderful trip I just had, and what a joy it was to represent our group in front of TXDOT. The room that was reserved for me was both spacious and elegant. The function was attended by between 250 and 300 people. The speech went over very well, or at least in my humble opinion. The applause was given either in appreciation of the talk or appreciation of that fact that I was finished. I will have to wait for the evaluation from Susan Freudo to be sure. [Susan gave Ed top ratings in every category. - Editor] I was approached by several people afterward who said they had enjoyed it. I want to thank both yourself and the Speakers Bureau for giving me this chance to expand my horizons.

"Your guys are pros! They had the biggest draw of the crowd for the two-day session, not counting the keynote speakers that everyone had to go to. They not only had us laughing but I think some of their spirited discussions and lessons rubbed off on a few of the crowd. They did not have Toastmasters feedback forms but I don't think they need feedback as there is no room for improvement. We gave them Alamo City ASMC T-Shirts and I am working on getting thank you letters from our president to send to them. They made my job easy and really saved the day. I will definitely provide you our group comments on how well they did later.
Thanks,
Capt. Michael Vaughn

Fantastic audience. We all had a laughing, fun filled afternoon. Everyone participated, learned new things, and shared the experience with joy. I am sure they would like more Toastmasters to speak to them. Keep me in mind for more programs.
Thanks again for your great support,
Rick Young

"Dear Mrs. Scott: On behalf of the Randolph Metrocom Rotary Club, I want to thank you for allowing our club to hear one of your outstanding speakers at our weekly Rotary meeting on January 20th. Bob Hall is truly a polished speaker with a message from the heart. His presentation was motivational, inspirational, informative and graced with a touch of humor. His sincerity and love for mankind is evident as he delivered a heartfelt presentation on being all we can be and being kind and caring with each other. His Toastmaster skills were polished and delivered professionally. Thanks again Atheria, for allowing clubs like ours to benefit and grow from professional speakers from your organization. Sincerely,
Ardyn Craig, DTM

"Well, Fremont [Ed] Wood really "wowed" our group (North Star Mall Walkers). He gave a humorous but informative talk on "cleanup of hazardous material." With his visual aids on display, he kept everyone's attention. His answers to questions revealed an intimate knowledge of the subject. I received many compliments for acquiring him to speak to us. Thanks."

"The walkers were the high point of my week.... After my presentation I was approached by some members of the audience and asked to speak at their group about the same subject. I have already had confirmation from the Kiwanis Club and will be speaking to their group on the 24th of January. The Rotary is having me as part of their February schedule but I don't have a definite date yet. For any interested Toastmasters this new speakers bureau is a great way to get out to meet different groups and polish your skills. My own evaluation of my performance caused me to change my opening so I gained from it too. Thank you Atheria!"

"Atheria,
How can I begin to thank you for connecting me with Wayne? His presentation was spectacular. He had asked me what I wanted in his presentation and he was given the following: Educate, Inspire and Motivate which he did very successfully. The group was so into the program that the time went by too quickly. Wayne so inspired the attendees that when the business portion started they used some of the techniques he had told them about during the presentation. This was one of the better business meetings we have had after a program. Wayne is stupendous, inspiring, funny and memorable to say the least. We will certainly use him again. Again, Thank You and I look forward to meeting you."

"Preparing for this presentation [for the Professional Tour Guide Association] caused me to look again at Toastmaster material on Body Language and Vocal Variety, and to look at what I was doing on my tours. As a result, preparing for this presentation improved my tours. I am grateful for the opportunity that your support... gave me to speak as an expert to an organization of which of I am a junior member. I am sure that good things will come of it."

Define a storyteller with energy, excitement, suspense and humor. Answer=Atheria Scott! My group is asking for more! I really did receive a lot of compliments on my selection of speakers and they do want to hear from you again. Let me know when you are ready.
