Contest Scripts
These are official District 55 Contest Scripts and are intended to be used at all contest levels. When more than one contest is being held at a contest event, appropriate modifications can be made to transition from one contest to another. Contestant interviews are to be conducted only after the last contest has concluded.

Toastmasters Speech Contests are events that showcase the talents of both members who compete and members who organize and support the events. Many wonderful benefits accrue to those that participate:
Contests are held twice a year, once in the Fall and once in the Spring. Up to two contests are held at one time, yielding a maximum of four contests per year. Club, Area, and Division Contest deadlines are driven by the dates of the District Conferences. If Conferences are held earlier or later than November/May, the prior contest deadline dates are adjusted accordingly. Below are typical times when contests are held.
Contests are held in the following sequence:
The Humorous Speech Contest, the Table Topics Contest, the Tall Tales Contest, and the Evaluation Contest all conclude at the District Level. The International Speech Contest winner for District 55 will compete in a semi-final contest at the International Convention in August. Winners of the semi-final contests will advance to THE International Speech Contest with a NEW speech two days later at the same Convention. You can find a bit more information in the November, 2009 issue of Toastmaster magazine, p11.
For more information about contests, please contact Lieutenant Governor Education & Training Sharon Brown.
