Adopt a Club Program
Program Objectives
- Strengthen Adopted Clubs (Clubs with 13-17 Members as of July 7, 2011)
- Create team-building within Sponsoring Club (25+ Members and Distinguished or Higher in the 2011-2012 Toastmasters Year)
- Provide Sponsoring Club members experience outside their own club
- Open Adopted Club to networking with other Toastmasters
- Enhance Distinguished Club Program (DCP) efforts for the District
- Promote further mentoring and training at the club level
- Enhance member retention
- Encourage plan development and implementation for increasing educational goals and increased membership. This could be a High Performance Leadership (HPL) Project for a Sponsoring Club member
- Provide the opportunity to recruit 1-2 club coaches from Sponsoring Club. If coaches are identified, their names would be passed on to the Lieutenant Governor Marketing (LGM) for final decision and management of coaches
Criteria
Sponsoring Club
- Club to be adopted has requested assistance
- Six month commitment
- Average of 3 members in attendance at every meeting (a Sign Off Sheet will be provided to be submitted by the Adopted Club to the Adopted Club Chair after each meeting)
- Open dialogue and communication between both Clubs
- Share available resources
- Assist adopted Club in conducting an Open House to recruit new members
Adopted Club
- Request assistance via the “Adopt A Club” Form.
- Link to the form will be available on this page by August 4, 2011
- Six month commitment (from Date of acceptance by both Clubs)
- Open dialogue and communication between both Clubs
- Share available resources
- Conduct an Open House to recruit new members
Awards and Recognition
Sponsoring Club
- Recognition at District 55 Fall 2012 Conference Awards Luncheon
- $50 District 55 Gift Certificate
Adopted Club
- New Member Orientation Kit (Item 1162), a Membership Building Kit (Item 1160) and “How To Rebuild a Toastmasters Club” (Item 1158)
- Recognition at District 55 Fall 2012 Conference Awards Luncheon
Program Dates
The Program will run from July 1, 2011 until March 31, 2012. The Request for Assistance via the “Adopt A Club” Form must be received by March 31, 2012. For requests submitted after January 1, 2012, the six months commitment will continue into the next Toastmaster Year (2012-2013).
